Always go to the Doctors after a head injury of any kind, I'll never forget Liam Neeson's Wife hitting her head during a skiing accident, insisting she was fine and then ending up dead days later.

I agree, go get it checked, you aren't wasting the docs time by being safe.

Also, have some rear view mirrors installed to prevent any further stick throwing incidents

I've done some first aid training (a while ago now!) and the advice is to always go to the doctor when there is this sort of head injury.

You can't tell if you are hurt, or if something is likely to happen later (as with Liam Neeson's wife as Ripsnorter has said).

I know it may sound silly and as if you are wasting their time, but you really should go, Kirsty.

As an ICU/ER nurse, I firmly encourage you to be checked. Liam Neeson's wife has already been mentioned...

Thanks for all the advice (and for the blatant attempt to steal my dog ) -

I went to the doctors today on your advice, and am thankful to say that I have whiplash from the bashing I took. So Ibuprofen and Paracetamol have been prescribed, as well as some gentle neck stretching exercises to loosen it up again.

I didn't remember the details of Liam Neeson's wife, so read up on it this morning - and that was enough to make me ring the docs. That poor, poor woman

Ouch! Blimmin dogs! Ollie has done something similar to me, but I landed in some nice soft mud. Hope you're feeling better soon.
