Flattened = Concussion?

Now we all know how ball crazy Zak is, well I have started NOT taking a ball on walks so he doesn't have access to one all the time. His usual trick is to pick something else up en route. On Saturday night, after tea, I took Yogi, Zak and Rip for a walk and Zak picked up a log from our log pile on the way out to carry

Further up the hill the dogs caught a myxi rabbit and dispatched it, and then Zak got the prize to eat - hence dropping his log. Rip picked it up and carried it a way and then dropped it. Bear in mind, Zak was still way behind us scoffing rabbit. I should really have thought before taking action, but without thinking I picked the log up and threw it for Rip. I did not realise that at that moment Zak was racing up behind to catch us up. He saw me throw the log and upped his speed. He then ran straight through me and slammed me on my back on the ground, banging my head rather hard It was like being hit by a truck!

My head is still hurting (3 days later) and, in the process of being floored, I managed to bite my tongue on one side and that is still a bit swollen and sore.

Could this have caused concussion and should it be a doctor's visit? I am slightly concerned that I still have a headache three days later, but other than that, am feeling ok.

Oooooft!!!!

Tbh there isn't much can be done for mild concussion - if it's just a sore head but no confusion, dizziness etc I wouldn't bother, but that's just me.

I wouldn't bother then - all the doc will say is you might have mild concussion but there isnt anything to do just wait for it to go away. Take some ibuprofen in the meantime to help take any swelling down

There is no harm in popping to the doctor, just to be on the safe side....always best to be a little cautious with heads!

Oh, and while you are at it, perhaps you could drop Zak off at Specsavers
