Choosing a flea product

Hi, I am involved in re-homing sanctuary dogs in Bulgaria, and these dogs are often immune-compromised. We have a flea problem at the Sanctuary (a open space scrub land environment) - and whereas we prefer herbal methods, they won't address this problem.

Many of the chemical options have reports of neurological side effects, which for these dogs, many of which are nervous from abuse is less than ideal.

Out of all the products on the market - do any stand out as being the most gentle on the dog? For example Border Collies are quite sensitive - what is recommended for them?

Many thanks in advance!

If you want to use herbal have you tried neem oil? It works very well as a repellant as long as you get the very good stuff (you'll know it's good because it smells like cabbage!) just put it in a spray bottle and dilute it 10-1 then you can spray the dogs and the scrub.
