I had a Dyson DC01 for eight years before it gave up the ghost a few months ago.
Went out and bought a pet vax - quite of lot of money if I recall and then absolutely hated it. Would vacuum with that and then pick up the residue with the old and failing Dyson!!
Now have a DC07, bought it the other week. LOVE IT!!
They now come with a 5 year guarantee as standard.
And I must say that with this one it does not seem to blow things around like my old DC01.

Tee Hee - that gave me the giggles, my other half wouldn't even know what a hoover was. Getting back to the question though, I will have to agree with GSD Lover - A Dyson for me too! - couldn't do without it.

I too love my dyson. I have an 03 absolute plus zorb. Had it about 4 years now, even before the dogs and love it. Its very light and slim, goes completely flat to the floor and hangs flat on the wall. Had it serviced once (as I am very brutal when hoovering) and dyson come out for a fixed fee and repalce everything that needs it, even if just worn. Great helpful website too, free delivery on extra parts.

I have a NI who moults twice yearly on cream carpets, we have wooden floors throughout the hall and study downstairs and dust bunnies breed daily there but its all no probs for my dyson.

When it gets a bit older I'll get another dyson, one for downstairs, then that one can go upstairs. A dyson for each floor..... we a girl has to have dreams

Yep, Dyson for me, when I moved here I got the "animal" which is great. Only snag is when the bristles stop spinning (I used to have long hair and appeared to shed an alarmimg amount of it) I would un-bung it without switching off and got close to seeing a couple of fingers disappear up the pipe from time to time

It's embarrassing just how much I get in the container.... part mud, part Dalmatian hair... plus some other stuff I would rather not analyse
