The categories in the greyhound and lurcher show ring are: Best Greyhound Dog, Best Greyhound Bitch, Best Lurcher Dog, Best Lurcher Bitch, Best Young Dog or Bitch (up to 2 years old), Best Spring Themed Dog (this can be as simple as your dogs collar decorated with daffodils/ribbons or a full spring themed outfit), Best Black Dog or Bitch, Best Veteran (over 7 years of age), Best Junior Handler (kids up to 15 years of age)
The categories in the ALL other breeds and cross breeds show ring are: Most Handsome Dog, Prettiest Bitch, Waggiest Tail (dog or bitch), Best Pedigree Dog or Bitch, Best Young Dog or Bitch (up to 2 years of age), Best Spring Themed Dog, Best Cross Breed Dog or Bitch, Best Veteran (over 7 years of age), Best Junior Handler (kids up to 15 years of age)
The highlight of the event, will of course be the Homeless Hound parade! This is when GAL dogs looking for their forever home have an opportunity to shine.
The cafe will keep you well fed and watered, with tea, coffee, cold drinks, filled rolls and some lovely home baking. All donations of home baking will be very welcome.
The GAL shop will be well stocked with everything the well dressed hound wants and needs this spring. So if your dog needs a new lightweight coat or one of our lovely collars and leads, come along and have a look. You will also be able to buy some lovely doggy themed gifts at very competitive prices. For the humans, there is the chance to buy GAL t-shirts and sweatshirt.
There will of course be a prize raffle, a tombola, and other stalls of interest.
Entry into the Fayre is £2 per dog (or £5 for large packs)
Please come along and support this fun event. GAL depends upon your support to help us continue to rescue greyhounds and lurchers in need.
