here is the original thread, which may help.

http://www.dogsey.com/showthread.php?t=53534

Cassie is still at the vets after her hysterectomy. Her protein levels are really low and there is a question about her liver and kidney function. She keeps filling up with liquid. the vet is perplexed as she seems ok in herself but is obviously a really poorly girl.Further test results are pending.

The vet believes that whatever this condition is it caused the loss of the puppies not the other way round. He is also keeping the bill down to the original quote as he accepts things should have been done earlier.the dog home were not forthcoming with any financial help.

The little boy of the house is really upset about it all so my friend is really going through the mill with all this.I told her I would ask on here as you all are so knowledgeable.....

All help and advice appreciated.

Thanks to everyone who has sent thoughts, messages and pm`s.

Unfortunately Cassie will be PTS today. Both owner and vet decided it was the right decision. A sad ending ........

It must have been so hard having only been a dog owner for a matter of weeks, then having to deal with all of this....
