DAISY - 5yo - FEMALE GREYHOUND
Let us introduce you to
Miss Daisy, a beautiful blue girl of just 5 years of age and measuring approximately 27" to the shoulder. Yet another unwanted beautiful greyhound made surplus by the racing industry.
Location: Daisy is currently in kennels in Suffolk. Daisy would benefit hugely by living in a foster home while she waits for her forever home.
Key Points: Lovely, bouncy, confident, friendly and affectionate, LOVES people, lovely girlie who likes to play with balls, VERY clean in her kennel and really enjoys treats.
~ Personality ~
Daisy is a lovely girl who charms everyone with her happy and bubbly nature. She is confident, loves to play and is very trainable with a passion for tasty treats!
~ In the Home ~
Sadly Daisy hasn't yet experienced being in a home but she is VERY clean in her kennel and we see her settling into a home environment fairly quickly with a kind and loving family. It generally takes hounds 10-14 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience.
~ Other Animals ~
Daisy really isn't keen on 'In your face' type boisterous dogs but is very well behaved around dogs on walks, very happy around other Greyhounds and has ignored small dogs so far.
~ Out and About ~
Daisy loves her walks and is good both on the lead and in the car. Like most greyhounds, Daisy will not need a huge amount of exercise. She will be content with two 30+ minute walks and some garden play time each day and perhaps a chance to stretch her legs off lead in a safe area away from public roads and livestock once or twice a week.
~ Greyhounds as Pets ~
In general greyhounds are calm, mannerly dogs that are well used to being handled. They can fit very well in to a wide range of different lifestyles and usually adjust to the home life very quickly. Their soft, easy going nature often makes them ideal to live in a family environment, while their love of lazing around and low exercise requirements can make them perfect for the retired. Greyhounds also don’t shed as much as other more popular dog breeds and this can make them suitable to live with allergy sufferers.
~ Where Can I Live? ~
We feel Daisy would be happiest in a fairly active family as she loves to play and as an only dog or with very quiet and gentle canine companions. She can be homed anywhere in the UK provided we have a home checker available, but please note that you will be required to travel to Norfolk to meet and collect her. Please also note we do NOT re-home dogs to families with children under the age of 8 years.
~ Where Am I? ~
Daisy is currently in kennels in Suffolk. Daisy would benefit so very much from a chance to live in a foster home and Kerry Greyhounds UK is always eager for new foster volunteers. It is an extremely rewarding experience and costs are covered by us.
~ Want To Adopt Me? ~
Daisy will be neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, deflead and wormed and a home check will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in adopting Daisy, please contact me (Bronwen) via email:
bronwen@kerrygreyhounds.co.uk, or you can speak to me directly by phoning: 075 000 62648.
There is an application form for adopting a Kerry Greyhound, and we will ask you to fill it in as the first step in the adoption process. To speed up this process, we recommend you do this before emailing/calling. You can find the form, as well as further information on our homing procedures, on the Adoption Page.
Thank you.
