My sister used to rescue unwanted rats.
She had about 8.
Doesn't have any now though, as she didn't have enough time for then when they moved house, as she had to travel quite far to work.

We rescue rats too. I think it's a dreadful shame when people don't care for their rats properly, or ANY animal. I also get sad when I hear of single rats being kept, as they adore comapny. Our little tuffys have friends, except four of them at the moment, we are trying to socialise the one, but the other three were rescued as singles and unfortunately are so nervous there's no way we can intro them, all we can do is give them the best possible end to a bad life.

xx

I used to have a lovely rat called Brad (after Brad Pitt who I love!!) - he had to be PTS when he was only 2 due to a tumour which was so sad as the vet told me if he'd been a bigger animal they could have removed it, but due to him being so small and the tumour was on his foot it would have killed him to remove it anyway.

Ooh I love rats, but my Dad hates them after he was attacked by a wild one in the coal shed!! Ha ha, how much of a girl do you have to be to get attacked by something so small!! :smt043

You're rats are v cute, I read somewhere that you sholud keep them in threes so that when you get your favourite out of the cage the other two will have each other for company! Makes sense I suppose!

I have 2 rats Lex and Smudge
I also have wild rats in my shed ,I had to buy Smudge for a christmas wife for Lex because a while back I put Lex and his 2 brothers in a big hutch in the shed and one day when I was out for most of the day the wild rats somehow mannaged to open the hutch and attack lex's brothers both of them died I keep the pet rats in the house now
I have a cage trap to catch the wild rats then I take them into the middle of nowhere and let them go ,I dont have the heart to harm them
