Just heard something bizarre...

I was talking to an online friend about dogs, and he said he was meeting up with a friend who was a vet tonight, and text me asking what dogs I wanted to know about (in case she knew breeders or anything..) and i said it didn't matter anymore as I am pretty sure I want a rescue dog next, the only dog I do still love is the working cocker spaniels and I got the weirdest response...... it said..

"she said if you get a cocker spaniel dont get a red one as they can sometimes go aggressive..."

...sorry I asked....

It used to be an issue (and as I gather, quite exaggerated at times) with some solid coloured Show-line Cockers (and numbers of those affected were exaggerated too), but no longer considered a problem after a lot of work by breeders. Didn't affect working cockers to my knowledge.

I got that with white boxers too ...

I had never heard anything like it before.... lol
But I also did say the working ones....

Mind you most of the ones I have met are a little full on

Okay I just googled that...... I didn't realise it was a real thing...

Well then I stand corrected!

My friend has a red cocker. Its brilliant 99% of the time but she has this rage problem and will go a bit bonkers!! I have quite a similar problem with my red (ginger) husband and red ( ginger) cat!! Must be a red thing!!
