Will you also be wearing a purple poppy?

They are designed to be worn with the red poppy and signify the rememberence of all the animals who have helped during the wars, they are being sold by animal aid for £1.50 including p+p, you can call 01732 364546 for more information or write to Animal Aid, The Old Chapel, Bradford Street, Tonbridge, Kent TN9 1AW. I shall be ordering one, and will be proud to wear both the red and purple poppies on 11.11.11 to honour the heroes who defended this country, and the ones still fighting out in Afghanistan and anywhere else in the world right now.

I wear a red poppy every year [I get one each year from the British Embassy in Tel Aviv] and every year I have to explain to people what it stands for and why I am wearing it.

I would also wear a purple poppy if I could get one.

I got one last year as they were on sale in the RSPCA charity shop in Wymondham that we went into so I wore it alongside the red one.

Haven't seen any yet this year though.

The last 2 years I bought mine online from Animal Aid.

Sue - Claire said at lunch we'd get a knitted one.

I'm still going to order one and a lapel badge too as they had none left in stock last year when I wanted one.

Malka - if you want to me PM me your address I can send you a purple poppy.
