Kidney disease in Labrador

Hi all,

I posted a few days ago about my 2 year old lab being lethargic and unstable on her legs, she has since been the vets and diagnosed with Kidney disease.
I'm absaloutly devistated, the vet rang and told me and said it is very advanced and her kidneys have become very small and damaged. I'm so heartbroken I love her so much I feel there should have been something I could do to prevent it.

Does anybody have experience of this? I know life span is different in every case. But I'm hoping to get her home in a couple of days as she is currently at the vets on a drip and having pain killers.

Any help or advice would be great in this really difficult time.
