I have read horror stories of what these sick people do ,even stealing pet cats to train young dogs to kill

Okay before I say what I do I want to make it clear I dont condone this in any way and I am in no way justifying or trying to justify the people that fight their dogs however I am all to aware that there is a lot of misinformation too concerning what goes on with a typical example being your statement above. What you read is just that horror stories, no serious dogmen ever use methods like that and would never advocate it either, its the media and so called humane societies who spout off crap like this inadvertently causing more harm than good because in turn young people who think they can be tough by matching their dogs read stories like that and believe them trying to use those methods themselves so in a way the media and other societies have a lot to answer for too. The bottom line is the dogs dont need to be taught how to fight they do it as a natural instinct its called gameness, thats what differentiates between our pet dogs and the game bred dogs, thats why I dont think dogfighters use pets to fight pure and simply because they can use dogs better equiped to do so....but thats jmo like I said I am not condoning it, I just dont like the lies either that can cause more harm than good imo. I think the people that would go and steal the dogs from a garden to fight are amateurs who dont have a clue....

Thats quite useful actually. It never occured to me to question it, but you are probably right....amatuers can get misinformation and start using these methods.

I am totally opposed to organised dog fights of any description though. But baiting, using pet animals is the absolute pits

sorry, me again. Laura - just because the people that use pet animals for baiting are amatuers - that doesn't really take away from the fact it goes on, does it?

I think that you may be right in saying serious dogmen wouldn't use these methods, but so what, somebody does? So Lel's warning is still helpful - right?

But, I do agree with you that this sort of scare mongering can be in is dangerous in the wrong hands.
