AV Classes

I'm a bit confused by all the AV classes at the Open show I'm going to....

There are Grad and Open classes for different breeds, then a whole host of AV classes.

There are AV Working, Pastoral (all the groups) then AV Minor Puppy, Puppy, Junior, etc, plus "AV Bred by Exhibitor" "AV Not bred by Exhibitor", "AV Dog" and "AV Bitch"

I'm entering Murphy in Grad for the Boxers, but I assume I can enter him in whichever AV Classes I want (providing he qualifies eg. AV Junior Dog since he is over 12 months).

Am I right in saying that I could enter him in:

AV Working
AV Junior Dog
AV Not Bred By Exhibitor
AV Dog

If I really wanted to? What are the advantages in entering in all these AV classes?

Yes you are right and you could, but if he is not used to being shown then I personally think 2 classes is enough as it would make it a very long and tiring day for him, if you entered all these.

I agree with Lovezois. Two classes would be enough. I've seen so many dogs thrown into every class they can be entered into and the sparkle has just died in them. Pick one AV class (for your youngster I would say go for AV Junior, stick to your age group IMO).
If your looking at showing your dog for a few years, you want to keep the dog fresh and interested in what it's doing in the ring.
