Mum came home last tuesday and started her radiotherapy treatment last wednesday. She had one does on each leg. Today she had the first dose of five(amounts to one dose but split) on her head. So far she is coping really well, apart from the tiredness. She is really glad to be home where she can do little things round the house and cuddle the dogs(who have been out of this world).

The doctors, nurses and support staff at Christies have been brilliant, as were the vast majority of them at our local hospital, one or two aside but thats a story for when all this is finished.

Missed this thread mate but obviously knew.

Ah, it's lovely to hear that she is home with you. I hope she does manage to get some rest now she's in familiar surroundings.

I'm so sorry to read this. Glad your mum is home now and treatments can commence. Will keep your family in my prayers!

Thanks all. She is coming to the end of the radiotherapy on her head, the last dose is on Monday. She met with her consultant on Wednesday who is very pleased with her and would like to see her in two months when they will discuss futher treatment.

Her walking is improving, she even managed to climb the stairs yesterday.
