Aw no, poor babies.
They do say to leave the nest alone and the parents will come back, I hope so.
I think we are having a phantom pregnancy here Nothing seems to be happening.

If not, are they too young to be homes reared? I wonder how long they can go without food etc?

Mum and dad never returned We ended up getting some mealworm late last night taking the roof off the box and gave them a good feed. Just bought a bag of rearing food and we've been feeding them every hour. Had to take the box down a couple of hours ago as every cat in the neighbourhoods been calling today. We were going to bring them in the house but the dogs were going frantic when they started screaming so they're in the shed.

We don't expect them all to make it but hopefully a few will survive to fly off on there own soon There's 10 and look quite big in the picture but there so tiny.

Awwww Anne...poor babies what a shame!!

Hope they all make it!

I am a Granny!!! Babies are here LOL..but its just a bundle of fluff and could only see 2 mouths..not sure how many and only had my phone on me..so the pics are dark and blurry!..WIll take good camera up tomorrow and get better pics..

We are debating now what they actually are..I was sure it was a robin..as when Mum flew out she zooms past..but today she was sitting on the top of the nest and I dont think it is a Robin,,.she has a reddish head and neck and a yellowish tinge to the rest of her..Chaffinch maybe?
