Shona it is peat we use as it retains the heat
and is soft for her/him to sleep on

and yes they are sweet when fully grown, they are small birds but with macaw personalities

these are some of grown ones

when they are tiny they kinda have that ET type of cute thing going on,..... you would never think they would grow into the wonderful colourful birds they do, when you see them as chicks x

Shona i call them Aliens when first born as they really are not nice to look at

but they soon look beautiful and grow so quick

i went to feed Mason this morning and he has tiny green feathers coming through on his wings- so cute

Thank you Lionhound
yes my daughter is doing a really good job, but it seems now i am out of hospital i am slowly taking over the 6am and 11am feeds

Mason also has an elephant teddy for company as he/she has no brothers or sisters for company

I used to have a Senegal called 'Mad Carew' He was adorabe, a rescue bird. He had never been properly tamed or handled and had mutated wings from a bad clip... But he was crazy and sweet...

I sadly had to rehome him when I couldn't spend enough time with him. I am still in touch with the lady he went to though and he's doing great!
