Please help my poorly dog

This rash came up a few hours ago. Slowly getting worse. He's not itching it and seems his normal self. What could this be and do I need to do anything?

Any advice would be helpful

Thanks
Ellie xx

May be an allergic reaction to something.

We haven't done, used or taken him any were different. Looks like prickly heat. So just trying to keep him cool at the moment.

It's late at night so I guess too late to call a vet. I suggest you keep him cool. Maybe sponge him down with plain tepid water and let it dry in the air (don't rub him) and take him to a vet tomorrow.

If you could take a photograph of the rash someone on here might recognise what it is likely to be. I wouldn't put anything at all (other than clean water) on it until you know what it is.

No he's not itchy at all. Just used cold water and cotton wool on it and see how he goes. It's not bothering him at all so that's a comfort.

Only thing that occurs to me is that it might be flea bite allergy contact dermatitis. Are you using Frontline or similar effective deterrent regularly to keep him flea free? My CKCS had this and just one bite and she'd come up in a rash and her skin get all hot and pink but it was ULTRA ITCHY in fact she'd almost go insane scratching and only a antihistamine jab would calm it down. So if it doesn't seem to be bothering him it doesn't seem likely it would be that.

Is there any posibility he has been rolling on grass that has been treated in some way? Or carpet that has been shampooed or powdered?

Honestly think it's best to let a vet have a look and hope it's no more serious than just some sort of heat rash.

Sorry I missed that post. I'd say obviously not related to fleas then.
