Did the kitten die? If so, was it a single blow that instantly killed it?

If neither of these apply, that is the difference. No-one is saying that what happened to the dog is right, but from a point of view of being able to prosecute, it is a question of whether there was suffering.

Be angry at the man and angry at the law, but not at the RSPCA in this case.

No it was'nt a single blow,he stamped on the
kitten several times, and even if it was a single blow,
it should'nt make a blind bit of difference, there
is no excuse for killing an animal in this way,if it
was a human there would be a right stink.
The RSPCA are rubbish,I've had dealings with them
about some horses, and they were not interested,
the only time they show caring is when they're on TV,
I would'nt donate money to them if they were the
last charity on the planet.

Have to say, I pretty much agree with what you've said

Sadly, Hali is right. The law is the problem - and the RSPCA didn't make the law, nor can they act outside it.

I sure as hell would like to, though

Sickening! How the owner of the pet killed is feeling I've no idea-full sympathy to them. I know what I would like to do........... Can't the RSPCA push for changes to the law-or is that too much to ask???

So if the RSPCA are helpless in this and other situations, who is protecting animals?

I hate that the guy has got away with this, but I don't think I blame the RSPCA in this case.
Agreed.

The RSPCA often has it's hands tied when it comes to things like this. The law needs criticising in this instance, not the RSPCA.
