Great job Dennis - What a transformation, I like it. One day we may have to paint our walls but first there's a hell of a lot of 'gunk' to be removed.

Use a power washer Harvey, the same sort that you use to clean your car, 3,000 lbs per square inch pressure will lift anything off.

That's in the garage ZB, don't want curtains in there coz I lay on the workbench and get a suntan on sunny days.

I went into B&Q today and told an assistant I needed to get knotted she looked at me in surprise, then I explained it was knotting varnish I wanted

Great stuff for treating knotty pine wood, it comes in a small tin and you paint it on the knots in the wood, this prevents any paint or varnish from being ruined by any residual sap oozing from the wood after it's painted.

I also looked at the price they wanted for Sandtex, £11.58 for half a gallon

geez nero I have a huge tin of it under the sink, you could have had that,, think I bought it when I got the bathroom lined with pine,, been under the sink for a while now,, lol
