the one good thing in all of this is Dogsey and the support you lot offer...everytime. Thank you so much guys, you'll never know how much your advice and kind words mean. Thanks.
He isn't having a good evening really, he had a brilliant time in the park with my OH and wasn't bad at all when he came home. He's sore now though. There is more blood in his mucous and he didn't want his tea. His favourite thing in the whole world is a tin of tuna (he's easy pleased!) but even with that mixed in he wasn't too thrilled at the prospect of eating. I persuaded him and hand fed him most of it, bless. He's bound not to be too hungry and strong ABs can make you feel funny anyway. We've decided to monitor him tomorrow and if we feel he gets worse we'll be back to the vets. Hate to see him like this.

DK I hope I haven't brought back painful memories for you.

If it was me, i would be careful with the hips side but allow the runs, if there isn't much time left so to speak, at least mo would have enjoyed some of it towards the end.
I would think her breathing and hips will tell her when to stop to be honest, the only thing i would be concerned about could be injury.
The last thing she needs is pain from her hips as well.
Try and get a happy medium between them both if you can.

So sorry to hear about Mo. If it was my dog then I would let her enjoy her life as much as she can, no matter how long she has left. Hugs for sweet Mo.

So sorry I've missed this thread until now. I agree with the rest, let the old boy enjoy himself and I truly hope you don't have to make the decision too soon. Thinking of you xx

We have had, coincidentally, an older dog with arthritic hips and also a dog (my first family dog, lab x whippet) with a nasal tumour.

I'd go for what you've said Ailsa, quality of life over quantity every time :smt001 :smt001

Oh no. What a difficult situation; I'm so sorry Ailsa, poor Mo.
I think I'd play it by ear and be guided by Mo.
Sending you lots of hugs.

Thanks again guys.
Hoping no decision is imminent. Don't want to lose him yet.
He is sore tomight so won't be having such a long free tomorrow, we will just have to take each day as it comes with him. He isn't snorting as much tonight but there's more blood in his mucous and he isn't do much, just sleeping.
Thanks everyone.

Thanks LS.
He hasn't been as snotty in the night and touch wood doesn't seem too bad this morning, but i think his eye on the affected side is slightly swollen. I could just be looking for stuff though so I'll check with my more level headed OH when he gets in from work later. I'll monitor him over the next couple of hours before deciding if we need to take him back to the vet today. So far, I'd say no but I've just got up!!!!!
