Beaches in Brighton - Dog friendly or not?

Hey guys,
Thinking about doing a weekend down in brighton soon. Does anybody know if the beaches are dog friendly or rather if dogs are banned from them?

Thanks!

Dogs are banned from some sections of the beach but are welcome in others.

Brighton is mostly pebble beach though, which isn't the best. If you are taking a day trip down here, go a little further along the coast to Shoreham/Worthing/Goring-By-Sea. The beaches are far nicer, especially when the tide is out (lots of sand!) and have long sections that are very dog friendly.

I keep meaning to check as the one by us in Saltdean says no dogs between May - September.
There is plenty of sand when the tide is out - I like the pebbles (you don't get sand in your knickers/sandwiches!)
But no so comfy for doggy paws maybe!

If the tide is out you can walk from Shoreham to Worthing, stop for a coffee and walk back...... tap me up and I will join you
