I know what you mean. I have twin girls. One is gay. India sits next to me and says the same when Beyonce comes on TV or she spots a hot girl walking along hand in hand with her boyfriend. Always a wink and 'what a waste'. Nothing nasty directed toward hetrosexuals, just humour

I've just downloaded the first Torchwood episode. Preparing to drool

Take care.

Seoniad.
You know me too well, Seoniad.

Let me know when it's ready and I'll come straight down to the Shire to get it! I will wear it with (gay) pride! Sorry, couldn't resist.....

As you correctly state, it has got nothing to do with being nasty - we're not, far from it!

If you feel offended for yourself, that is your choice, people can TAKE offence at absolutely anything and frequently do!
It's not about taking offence. It's about low-level 'homophobic' comments that grate on gay people (especially the young) - and given that a disproportionate number of young gay people commit suicide I think it's about time more people started saying something!

It's an unpleasant out-dated remark.

Nobody has made a homophobic remark. You may have IMAGINED one, which unfortunately is what is the matter with many people to day.

But nobody here has made a homophobic remark. It is not unpleasant and it is not outdated.

It is a statement of opinion to which we are all entitled.

It is not a comment on values, homosexuality or anything else, so please do not try to twist the words of others over an IMAGINED slight that exists nowhere except in YOUR mind.

Can you point me to the figures where a disproportionate number of suicides are represented by young gays please as opposed to those that are bullied (for various reasons) addicts, mentally ill , ex service people, vets or a combination of one or more.

Azz - it is NOT homophobic and not meant in a homophobic way! I, and I'm sure SB, is not homophobic and, as she says, I've said that to my gay friends faces too and they are not offended in the slightest (they are bloody gorgeous, too!). They love it and think it's hilarious that they are adored by women!

Why can't you understand what we are saying?!

I LOVE gay men - if I could marry a gay man, I would!
