Murphy used to bark whilst in the car all the time too Jackie, so I squirted him with water and he doesn't bark in the car now unless he sees another dog and then he calms down once we driven by the dog out of sight.

Another thing you could do if you've got a car thats big enough is put a crate in the car, put Harley in the crate and cover it with a towel so he can't see out
