They are very beautiful but I think i've read somewhere that they're very prone to eye problems and also skin cancer because of the albinism.

They are not cool at all Footybird. They have very bad health problems related to their colour and are unscrupulously bred for large sums of money. Its very sad and ultimately the dog suffers. They suffer from inceased skin cancers, photo sensitivity, deafness and skin problems to name a few.

I adore Dobermanns, have owned two, I hate to see them destroyed in this manner for the sake of a pretty penny.

You could have a look here if you wish, some interesting reading.
http://www.kerioak.dobermann.me.uk/ look down the left for "Albino Dobe section.
Dawn.

It's a common misconception that white boxers are albino(which they are not) but white Dobes are ,meaning they have all the health problems associated with it

I didn't actually mean they are cool because they are albino and have health promblems etc which I know about after reading the site I found them on which rescues them! Ment it due to the fact I never thought about white/albino dobes and the fact that I learnt something new about the breed

An unusual, but not a heathy dog, they would not survive in nature.

I think that's a shame that someone would purposly breed them knowing they can have so many problems...There is nothing wrong with white dogs that are just white and indeed if a doberman somehow happend to just be white I think that would just fine and would look ok but breeding them to be albino to get the white just isn't on...I feel sorry for them healthwise and don't think they look too good like that with the pink skin where it should be coloured. Poor dogs.
