When I rescued my staffies the first thing I did was take them to the vets for a health check and I asked him then to scan them but neither had chips so they were done there and then.

all ours were microchipped. and none of them showed any sign of pain. Tam was done at 9 weeks, on the same day as his 1st vaccs (we do them later here), and worming.

As we had an extra 120 SF added to his price for the vaccs and microchip I can't say how much it cost. But Lucys cost 35 SF, so £13.

Next year it'll be the law to have all cats and dogs microchipped here, so that clause has been added to all breeders contracts.

We have our pups chipped with their second jab our vet does them for free the jabs cost £25 each.

I got Kira chipped at the vets today ,poor baby she yelped when the put it in ,but after that she was fine
It cost me £21.51 ,it was an identichip one so with buying wormer then VAT on top of it it cost £30 in total

I believe you can get chips now that will also read the dogs temperature
