I own a so called designer dog as the cavalier that we have today is all down to a lady who took up an offer from an American gentleman to try and register a spaniel that looked like the comforter spaniel once owned by king charles..for the sum of £25.....

I knew i'd read about boxers with tails somewhere!

Teagan was playing with 2 boxers (sisters) yesterday, at Training.
One had her tail docked, and one didn't!
Strange considering they are sisters I thought!

I am new to the forum but here is my own personal opinion on breeding of any sort.

I was a irresponsible breeder (we did`nt intend to breed),and it was only when Bonnie was pregnantI I found out there is soooo much put into breeding dogs, health, cost, genetics, planning, and loads more,

If I had known more about boxers I would have known that in fact it was`nt such a good idea Bonnie & Clyde mated, why? two flashy boxers produce more white pups(not that is a problem for me) but breed standards state that all abnormal & white pups should be euthanised.(Please correct me if i am wrong ). White pups carry a double recessive gene?!? and this is a problem for breed standards.

We had 4 white pups in a litter of 8 (it would seem this is very unusal), one of the pups Lily is deaf.

in other ways we were probally more responsible than some breeders, we vetted the homes?people who bought our pups for less than half the price breeders sell for,.

Cross breeding resulting in Boxers so I can`t disagree with it but i do think it should be done by people who know what they are doing and some idea of how healthy the resulting pupswill be.
I do not believe in trial & error.

For the people who think they cannnot afford pedigree dogs, you are wrong , there are Breed Rescues who always have dogs needing new homes and you don`t have to pay lots but then you are unlikely to get a pup, although there are young dogs always available

most breeders will place white boxers in pet homes now. As you say they used to be euthanised at birth was was sad They are not usually KC registered.

I would love a white boxer :smt049
