The Gift that keeps on Giving

Numbered amongst my collection of nutcase mutts is a St Bernard lady who is verging on the antique. She is still in perfect health but with her 8th birthday looming is very noticeably slowing down.
My houseguest too has noticed this and fearing that when Molly goes to her eternal rest I'll be too upset to get another Saint came home Tuesday with a surprise for me.
Yup you guessed it.

'Easy' is a 2 year old male Saint Bernard who was in desperately urgent need of new accommodation as he had made a foray into a neighbour's sheep paddock at his former home and made rather a pig of himself with the lambs.

He's a very handsome boy and is fitting into the pack without trouble. It appears he was rather badly beaten as he flinches when I reach out to rub his head but he'll get over that.

Just as well the new greyhound isn't coming after all having found a new home closer to home!

Why is it all of a sudden that when I say "Enough, no more!" no one listens?

my dog flinches when i put my hand above his head but he has never been hit, flinching is not always a sign of abuse.
Hope it all goes well.

You're right of course, hounds in particular are prone to flinching at sudden moves but this boy's history is known and at least one of his previous owners have beaten him.
Flinching is not a Saint B proclivity.
