Ordered a Kindle

I was debating getting an e-reader for a while and have finally took the plunge and ordered the Kindle e-reader from Amazon with my Christmas money.
I've also ordered a few free classic books (Sherlock Holmes) and a couple of thrillers from their 12 day sale, they were only £1 so I'm not losing if they are no good.
Does anyone have one already, please tell me you love it

Someone I work with has one. He loves it. I asked if it can light up for night time reading, he said no. Shame.

I have a Kindle - Baz bought it for me for my birthday in September. Best present I've ever had. I have the basic one, and download books via my PC - simples!

It's only downside is no backlight, but I have a head torch for such occasions when I cannot read by my bedside lamp.

A fabulous bit of kit I couldn't be happier with it!

So glad you like it, it does seem to get good reviews.
Vicki, I've also ordered the wi-fi version as I don't intend to travel with it, and I figured the extra £40 the 3G would cost, could go towards a nice cover and a few books.
Just wish it would hurry up and arrive
Comet store had 3 or 4 e-readers on view, it was the first time I had seen the Kindle in the flesh, and it did seem better than the others. I wasn't very keen on the Sony one, and figure it might strain my eyes reading with a backlit one for a few hours, hopefully the Kindle will be kinder on the eyes.
Did anyone buy a cover for it yet, the Amazon one seems quite expensive?

I have just ordered one off ebay for £5.49 but it is not here yet.

I fancy one with the attached reading light as well.

Lionhound - I had to read your post twice, I thought you had got a Kindle for a real bargain price
I'll have a look at e-bay.
