White good just do not seem to last like they used too! I used to have Zanussi, and they went on forever, i think both my washing machine and tumble dryer were 12 years old. I have a hotpoint washing machine which is 2 years old in feb, and today had a guy out to repair it ( door hinge ) £89

My old tumbledryer (and my current one) was a Zanussi and lasted nearly 15 years before it became uneconomical to repair. I always had it under a maintenance-type contract, and when it finally died, the company gave me a cheque for £120 to buy a new one. The new one was only £89
