Seizures started again

After one year and 177 days Pereg had a Grand Mal seizure at 2am. It is now 3.50am and I am still up with her because of bad post-ictal activity.

I know nobody is around. Just wanted to talk even if it is to a computer monitor.

I am devastated for her. I mean I knew it would not last forever but if it is going back to how it was I do not think I will be able to cope.

Oh no malka poor pereg, she has been good for so long, and so close to her blood tests too. I can't comfort with words of wisdom but I'm sending you strength to keep you strong through the night and healing vibes to dear pereg, I so hope this is a one off x x

Why are you still up? I did not expect anyone to be up, just needed to talk. Why? One year and 177 days and now back to the beginning.

Went to bed about 12.45am - an hour later she wanted to go out for a pee. Came back in, back to bed and sleep and bang - a full blown Grand Mal. I guess I am lucky she only lost bladder control and that was on the end of the bed, no loss of bowel control or emptying of anal glands, and bedding can be washed.

Gave her a double dose of Pb plus a calming pill - she kept nagging and hurting my arm grabbing it, wanting food food food - typical post-ictal for her. Gave her another calming pill and she is now quiet at nearly 4.30am but if I move she starts again.

Praying it was a one-off but I think that would be asking too much.

She is finally quiet - on the couch, but I know that as soon as she hears the click of me switching my chair on again she will be up and probably will not settle again. But I must get some sleep and cannot sit in this chair all night. It will shortly be 5am and I have only had one hour's sleep.

Not her fault though is it, but why after all this time to start again?
