It's the way he can be fine one minute and completely off his rocker the next! If he was predictable I could cope but he's not and it's painful to watch

It is so sad, and harder to know what to do when it isn't constant too

I am so sorry and its such a dilemma for you. Poor lad, he must be confused.
My last little dog had some really odd 'episodes' during her last year. She definitely had dementia and some of her behaviour was unpredictable and so out of character. Some of the time it was as though the 'lights were on, but there was nobody in'. (((hugs))) to you both. It really stinks getting old.

No advice to offer - just wanted to say how sorry I am - its hard when you know they are not themselves but cant identify the reason.

Hugs to both you and Scooby.

Thank you, that's how I feel with him sometimes. It's like he's not all there He's been so good today and happy I hope he keeps it up.

Thank you. I was praying the bloods would come back with something just so we'd have something to go on even if it was treatable. Now I'm just back to square one.

I'm really pleased he's been more settled today I was advised that with old dogs and cats (especially when confused) that it was really beneficial to them to spend time stoking them and gently massaging them. I did with my old girl and she loved it. My son who adored my old dog would spend literally hours on the floor (or settee) with her stroking her and talking to her. Maybe it is the reassurance for them

Good luck and I hope he remains in his settled state. ((hugs))

I can't offer advice. Just wanted to say I am sorry to read this. And I hope Scooby isn't actually 'aware' of how confused etc. he is.

Very glad to hear about a slight upturn now.
