and so, so many of us have been there, so, so many times hey? Wonderful piece of writing imo, just wish she could have been there for him, it's something we all should do really, but some of us aren't that strong are we, sadly.

I read it, and tears are streaming down my face. So very very sad and very honest.
Many of us here have had to face that awful time and it never gets any easier.

So sorry to read of your loss, many of us have been in the same sad situation, I am glad your hubby was able to be with her on her final journey, the love they have given us over the yrs deserves those who love them best to be with then on that final journey.

I was sad to hear you describe it as passing a death sentence on your girl, I (and I suspect most of us here ) would say, we released them from their pain.

It the hardest thing any of us will ever have to do, sending our cherished pets on that journey, but the comfort in doing so is knowing they are no longer in pain,
