maggots in the fridge

I keep tropical fish, I try to feed them live food if I can get it. you can buy frozen worms etc, but it's £2 for a small slab.
last year I went to the fishing tackle shop and bought a tub of maggots, I put them in the fridge cos at low temps they'll keep for 3 wks.
I was upstairs on the PC, and heard this SCREAM, "you dirty pig", she said, "the fridge's crawling with maggots" I went down and had a look, I had'nt put the lid on the tub properly.
It took me an hour to fish the little devils out of all the corners, I said "it's only maggots, some doctors use them to clean up infected wounds".
she's no sense of humour.

Ah... reminds me of my school days when I used to bring a tub of maggots (from our fridge) in my satchet, to school and sneakily hide them in the biology fridge for the geography teacher to collect.

He and my father were fishing buddies

Ugh, ugh, ugh!
I don't mind maggots but they are sooo stinky!

When my OH get maggots for fishing they go in the fridge in the garage or preferably in his beer fridge in his office as he's less likely to forget they are there!

I told the fella that has the shop the story. he said one of his pals did the same.
his pal's wife went into the fridge to get a slice of quiche, she's sitting eating it, then noticed the chease topping was "moving". another SCREAM.

I remember fishing in cold weather - we'd scoop a few and keep them in our mouths for a while so they'd warm up and get more wriggly before putting them on the hook.
