Sadly, today, this is true. People are so geared up to think that their personal human rights are only demonstrated by an attitude of 'I am right' and'No one can tell me what to do' and such like.

We often hear about life in Victorian times, the PC brigade are always telling us it was horrible, but in those days people listened to advice and generally heeded it too. I was born in the wrong century

I am puzzled why you think that what you have said so far will cause upset. Because you mentioned someone drinks too much and swears a lot, don't see any reason why that should upset anyone, he sounds like a moron, let us hope and pray he never goes through with getting a dog, any breed of dog.

I agree, i think we all have moments when we think we are right but MOST of us double check first....just wish the set of idiots that know nothing about animals in general would stick to other "hobbies" and "trophies"

It is all very involved but even MORE reason NOT to get any sort of dog! The daughter adores animals but has always come to me for her doggy fix.

This is why i stand by a pet education scheme! really it should be essential, in this day and age!

Nothing worse than a know it all, even worse when they think they know it all over children and animals when they clearly do not...
What a brilliant idea! A pet education scheme. I think this would be an essential part of any civilised country's school curriculum. One of my pet hates is children that are absolutely petrified of dogs, or any animal if it comes to that. It is all too often caused by a parent being terrified, and passing that fear onto their offspring, which is so sad. A pet education class at school starting in the Reception Class would help to prevent phobic parents passing on their fears maybe.

Fingers crossed that your friend gets rid of this rather unpleasant-sounding man ... for her sake, as well as the potential husky!

Yes! exactly, best place to start is the grass roots IMO! It probably still wouldn't eradicate your general numpty or the nutter with a penchant for torture BUT it would probably help the vast majority to learn how to treat all animals properly.

Education is the key to the box of ignorance and all that jazz

Does anybody know any documents/ information.... that explain what huskies/ mals are all about. More a negitive view on them... to try and put people off getting one?

I know someone who is planning on getting a husky as their first time dog....
