Choc lab still having problems with red itchy patches and fur loss

Hi guys

After thinking we had his problem whipped it comes back and pites us in the furry patoutti!

Bailey had some form of allergy - this is what we were told by our vet. It was treated 2 weeks ago with imaverol shampoo.

Now he has started moulting in earnest and we have noticed the fur on his inner thighs is that thin now we can see the skin. Also he has several crusty blotches. These are on his hind quarters near his bum (these have gone after treating with the imaverol), a large one on his side in between where his ribs end and his belly begins and also several small bare spots on his hind legs.

The one on his stomach really worries me as it very large and a yellowy colour with red crusty bits as well.

We are starting to think that maybe it is a food allergy. It seems very common to find dogs that are grain sensitive. Perhaps a shift in foods and a more frequent antibacterial bath?

He is bathed once a month using malaseb already.

Once again, ANY help you can offer will be greatly received.

Oh and we ruled out sarcoptic mange and ringworm the last time we went to the vet. THey gave us 2 different treatments for the mange possibilty.

Thanks again

Tess and Bailey
