Dawn the dogs were on dogs blog.com They e-mail out a daily list of available dogs from a variety of rescues. You can search their database by sex ,age,breed etc.

Thank you all for your links and suggestions, I looked at them all but most would not home where the dog would be left at all!!

However, we have found a lovely Whippet chap, who seems to be fitting in beautifully. Thanks again everyone.
