Understanding Kongs

Hi guys

I know loads of you just love Kongs, almost as much as your dogs

Not actually having bought one yet I am trying to understand how the concept of the kong works, and what you can actually put in it - please could you let me know because I'm confused. I'm seeing that you can freeze them - according to an ice cube post?

How do they actually get the food out of them - and I'm guessing they must be easy to clean because do you also put wet food in them as well - sorry for the ignorance but just don't understand how it works.

Thanks for your help.

Alright can I ask DW kong lovers what you like to put in your Kong - to get an idea of what can be put in their apart from Liver paste and dried food?

Thanks

Here you go Ingrid: http://www.takingthelead.co.uk/2/Hea...g_stuffing.htm

Look up Kong recipes on Google - lots of ideas

Use a bottle brush & very hot water to clean.

Beware of leaving a stuffed Kong, or one that has not been cleaned out, in the garden as the food debris will attract wasps and can result in a stung tongue

Do you mash up the banana or just slice it in, do you squeeze lemon juice on it so it doesn't go off, or does it not matter - sorry about all the questions just trying to work it all out.

I use some of my dogs dried food mixed with some natural live bio yoghurt or cottage cheese or tuna and I freeze it - it take them a bit longer to get it all out

I usually mash up the banana, and mix yoghurt in with it!
I put it at the bottom of the kong (But I fill the hole with a biscuit first, so nothing falls out!).

Tnen I put other things in, in layers.
Ohh, I forgot to write cheese!

Then I put it in the freezer, usually over night, and give it to Teagan when I go out!
