Yeah, as seaside means kids and junk food.

I would have denied ownership, but the redness of my cheeks said it all really

I have a 6ft fence which is as high a solid fence as you are legally allowed most places in the UK, check your council for the law in your area. You may be allowed to put a foot of trellis on top... Its all to do witht he light (lack of) on the other side... Your neighbours can complain you'r stealing their sun

Oh... and dont make my baby error..

A 6 ft fence with a 3 ft garden table pushed up against it is a 3 ft fence with a ladder!

Pharaoh came round and met me at the front door first time I tried to shut them in the garden when I went out rather than the house. Glad it was him and not Kismet who figured that one out! Glad he figured it out straight away...

Ours is about 6 foot high - if you're doing it yourself (or at least buying the materials) design the fence with the available lengthed materials in mind. Less cutting & less waste is less cost. Standard lengths could be 2.4m posts knocked in enough for 1.8m high fence

The short answer is NO

The only way to be sure your dog won't get out is to have a proper fence, at least 6 foot high, also if you're planning chain link it must be concreted into the ground, and if 'ship lap' panels (Be careful how you say that ) then you'll need to fit the vertical concrete slabs with the groove on top that the panel sits in.
