Daily thread 14th November 2021

Morning all
Can't sleep.... again.
The 2 dogs are fast asleep though so that's good.
We had quite a few fireworks here and up by Steve's too....I don't know why really, I don't think it's a particular date for something.
My brother made me laugh Tonight, I messaged him about the goings on next door (as I always do so I have a physical record that is time and date stamped) and he got back to me and said "sorry..I was busy on t.v!" Turns out he had gone to the royal Albert hall for the remembrance Day service ( they were watching it back) .....he had gone with his mate Andy who I managed to recognise even though I haven't seen him for about 10 years...both looked very smart in their suits.

Good morning Kelly and all who follow

Hopefully you will manage to rest today or you are already catching up on much needed sleep.

Well yesterday didn't go to plan. Ben managed to drill the holes for the cable after having to go and buy another drill bit so he could get through some thick wood the builders had used on his fake chimney breast, So today will pull the cable through. We did manage to tile one wall in the kitchen again after having to go and buy more tools to do the job. As he and I have never done any tiling I think we have done a good job. The hardest part was cutting round the electrical sockets but we got better as we went Today we plan to pull the cable through and then tile another wall. It looks like I will have to go during the week to paint the two remaining rooms that need carpet.

We have also spoken to the carpet people and should hear on Monday a date to fit - we have said the end of November. The children are flying over on their own with an escort from the flight staff who will see them through from checkin until Ben meets them at Heathrow.

Thank you all for the ideas re seats. I have already suggested bean bags will just have to see what he does.

Sorry for the ramble

Hope all are well. Take care.

Good morning all.

We could have had a party last night Kelly. 3 am that clock was still crawling for me. Wouldn't have been so bad, but a toilet call between then and 7 am when I woke up fresh as a daisy. Ah well, a nap in order this afternoon I guess.

We used to love renovating, but it can be oh so frustrating at times. When we bought Gary's flat, I broke my ankle the day before completion leaving Dave on his own to get it all done. That was traumatic. He was running between the flat and coming back to me to make sure I got somethng to eat and drink because I wasn't allowed to put it to the floor.

Lol.....I wasn't very sociable last night Chris! I could have done with a bloody good drink though! Spent the night trying to figure out what to do about the nutty neighbours
Isn't it funny how accidents happen at the most inconvenient times in life

Morning griff, Sue, Chris and all to follow.
Weather can't make it's mind up today.

Oh dear griff sorry you had a neighbour night, no idea other than what you're doing regards neighbours. If it's noise banging the doors etc., have you been down the environmental health route ?
Sue good luck with the renovating today.
Hope you have a better night tonight Chris.

Keep safe stay well everybody.

Morning all. I have been clearing out stuff. Amazing what you find you don't need after a year of it being in the cupboards out of sight. Have a good day all. Bit chilly but not to bad.

Strange how I only find out things on here. I asked Sue and she said nothing. About time Ben cleared all his stuff from my house if he had to pay for 2 years storage it would have cost a fortune
I know nothing about the grandchildren coming over at least it looks as if they won't be staying here so things can get back to normal

Lynn, we have been in touch with noise abatement... it's just tricky because of the ongoing issues with the owners, also throw in the mix of juggling the dogs, hospital appointments and treatment etc and it's very complicated.
I did speak to my nice neighbour who said that she was in bed dozing off, she heard the car door go, then the front door bang twice, the dogs barked and then she heard the wall getting banged....but she didn't know it was the wall until her daughter shouted up and then she saw me outside and she just said she felt so very very sorry for me. I don't care about the noise for myself because I have enough amps and speakers to blow them into next year! But it's upsetting the dogs, my neighbours are suffering....one lot have a new baby and a toddler and the other side.....the lady is terminally ill. I have asked did she want me to leave her out of it or state it's impacting on the three houses, she said to give her details and they can discuss it with her

Good neighbours are a pleasure, but when you get bad ones, boy oh boy can they make your life a misery for no apparent reason. I've only ever had one bad neighbour so I can sympathise with what you are going through. Fortunately for us, we didn't suffer the guy too long as we had always planned to move to the coast when we retired, but I feel sorry for those who bought our bungalow if he was the same with them which I think he would have been

I'm feeling a lot better today. I haven't really been too bad, but with everything going on, I've had three days of being a little downbeat. That has lifted today thank heavens
