I'm new To this Forum

Hi, I'm new to this forum, I've never before approached groups like this. Just a month ago I got a new pooch, a cute little Golden Retriever. With her waging all day behind me I feel like “Mary had a little pooch”. I need some help about her bed. With all the amount of hair she has, I don't know whether I should go for some nice warm thick bed or something light and cooler. Hoping for some helpful replies from pet-lovers like you all.

I think it would depend on how hot it is where you are. If warm... just a mattress type bed would probably be fine... if cooler then a high walled padded type bed would probably be better.

Hi & welcome to Dogsey.

As Janie says, depends on how warm it is where you are.

Look forward to seeing some photos of your pup soon

Thanks. That's great to hear from you. I'm living in a warm place. My doggie prefers to sleep part of the time on the bed and part of the time on the tiled floor (bcoz it's cool there)

Hi and welcome to dogsey!

As it is hot where you are I would go with janie's suggestion and get a matress type bed. With a long coat and the heat she will probably not want to spend much time in a fluffy bed. Also if she can have access to the tiled floor next to her bed it will give her the option of being half on/half off if she wants to

My boy has both types which he has in the kitchen, in the summer he seems to prefer his matress or the cool floor, but in the winter you're hard pushed to move him from his fluffy bed
