Police dog handler charged

From the Mirror (not that I read such trash, but it was posted on the book of Face!)

"
A POLICEMAN who left two dogs to roast to death in his car was yesterday charged with cruelty.

Sergeant Ian Craven, 50, resigned as head of the Metropolitan Police’s dog training unit after the animals baked in 29C temperatures in June.

RSPCA officers tried to save the German shepherd and Belgian Malinois after the alarm was raised, but they were too late.

Mr Craven, of Egham, Surrey, will appear before Bromley magistrates on October 12

I hope they throw the book at him! There is NO excuse for this. There are so many warnings given out every year but there's always some idiot who thinks it won't happen to them and don't really care too much about how the dogs feel in a fur coat in all that heat.

Hope he gets the book thrown at him. Idiot doesn't come close to describing him. And he already knew what happens when you leave a dog in a hot car as this was the second time a dog in his care died due to his negligence.

Its disgusting behaviour from anyone let alone an actual dog handler
Ill be honest though, in that dock he will barely get a ticking off, its very difficult to get a judge to throw any harsh sentence at any member of her majesties police, what will more than likely happen is he will get a reduced fine, and a warning from the judge, which wont matter to him cos at that age and considering he was head of the unit, he will get pensioned off on his full pension, and the lump sum payout will not even take any damage from the mesely fine he will get.
Shame but its how it happens
