A stray dog needs your help!

Dear animal lovers,

A couple of days ago I found an adorable puppy, which I called Zuza. Unfortunately she was in big pain after having suffered an accident. Her pelvis shattered into three pieces, making repair very difficult. This is why I asked the help of an orthopedic specialist, Dr. Andrei Căloiu, a very dedicated professional who made his best in getting Zuza the surgery and treatment she badly needed. The internal fixation was extremely complicated as the pieces needed to be held in place with metal plates, pins and screws.
Zuza is now recovering and hopefully in a couple of weeks she will be able to walk again. I kindly ask you to help me raise the money for surgery, x-rays, antibiotics and other expenses. I promise I will take very good care of her and I will keep you up to date with her evolution. You can find many photos of Zuza, her X-rays and the receipts here: [social network references removed.]

Please donate here: http://helpzuza.chipin.com/zuza-a-puppy-in-pain
May you be blessed for your act of kindness!

Sincerely yours,
Veronica

Hi
I wish the puppy all the best - but would like to point out that realistically, you need to act through a recognised animal welfare group. This is because there are so many scams and hoaxes that people are wary of donating to an unsupported appeal.
Is there not a Rescue group you can work with on this?

Unfortunately in Romania there are too many stray dogs so even though some NGOs try to build shelters and provide assistance, they are not interested in cases like Zuza's.

I can prove this is not a scam, anyone who wants to see her can videocall me on Skype. I can provide any information needed in order to prove it is all real. I realize there are a lot of crooks online but I do believe people can make the difference.

Don't hesitate to contact me on or Skype. Thank you, have a great day!

I feel your pain, we took on Reah (now sadly passed over to Rainbow Bridge) her Pelvis was shattered and needed plating, plus 3 of her legs needed pinning.
I agree with C&D though have you tried... Rolda - Romanian League in Defense of Animals. They maybe able to help with suggestions how to raise the money needed to help the injured pup.
Here in Britain I used the local radio, Television and The Birmingham Dogs home helped with the appeal.

wishing you all the very best

I did call many NGOs (http://www.animapro.org/, http://adapostdragomiresti.tripod.com, http://www.adouasansa.com, etc) but the answer was the same: their shelters are full, there was no room for Zuza. It was Sunday and she badly needed the surgery so I rushed her to the nearest clinic, at that point I didn't think about the money, I just wanted to see her well again.

I will email Rolda to see if they might help me, although I guess they need the money for their own cases.

Thank you very much for your suggestions. All the best to you too!

I was not doubting your sincerity - I have raised similar sums for injured dogs. But what you are asking people to do is to send a stranger money. This is not something that many people would do, for obvious reasons.
A better tactic IMO would be to look at the following-
payment direct to the veterinary hospital, with a link to amount raised on their website.
Fundraising events where the money raised goes to the stated cause.
Offering services, holding a raffle, running boot sales.. all these are good.
The reason I suggested working with a welfare agency was not that they would give you money, but that they can advise you on fund-raising methods.
