Any ideas please

My small dog Coo has a problem pooing. She has hsd the orange granules to help but now----in spite of eating all sorts of gross things off the floor----she won't go within a mile of anything orange.

She did have a problem with crystals in her bladder when I had her, it was a huge one (about 1/2 " diameter) and was made up of both sorts of crystal. So I have been careful with her food and she has the large dog Jon Angell at the moment. I tried Chappie tinned and it made no difference, nor did butchers tripe tinned. I don't want to feed her the cheaper tins or pedigree as I am worried about the crystals----she was fed on that before and presumably that caused them?

I don't mind cooking for her if it works.

Any ideas for making poos sloppy and easy to push out?

Not sure if sloppy would necessarily make it easier to push out

I wonder if oily fish would help to 'ease the passage' ?

Is the food she's currently on a dry? If so, may be soaking it well before giving it her might help.

Only guesses - no experience of this, but hope you find something that helps her

Do you mean she`s constipated? Or that she has pain when going?

Liver although you do not mention what sort of crystals, as there are three types each with different triggers, it is hard to advice on diet.

Some liver might help? (on it's own, as a meal)

Or if you mean as a longer term thing then boil it and add to the kibble/tins she normally gets?
Just when needed?

Thanks--she had two types one alkaline and one acid---she had the alkaline diet for a while but it was a try out and a compromise. She has been OK on commercial diet for 5+ years now.

I'll give liver a go.

I'll try that, thanks. It is longer term and she isn't exactly constipated but her poos are rock hard and she has difficulties.

I'm sure my friend gives her dog some homeopathic stuff that helps it 'glide' for similar reasons. We have a brilliant homeopathic chemist nearby so maybe this is a route you could investigate? I'm sorry I cant remember the name of the stuff she uses but any decent homeopath would want to talk to you anyway.
