Could you take his old collar in with you as a size guide? Or do what I did, measure the collar to the hole he was on, and take a tape measure with you.

Leave him in the car - if you have a car. Did that when trying to find a collar for the lodger. Then took the one I'd bought straight back and swapped it for a smaller one.

My pointer has one size medium she is 18 inch neck and I have it on second to smallest hole.
