Meet Bonnie



Bonnie is a 12-month-old Lurcher who is looking for a new home because her owners decided they no longer wanted her.

Sadly Bonnie has been mistreated in the past and is also severely under socialised. Loud voices, strangers, raised hands, brooms, doors closing, loud footsteps and newspapers all scare her. Although toilet trained, when nervous or frightened she has been known wet herself. She is a gentle and sweet-natured girl, who wants to do no wrong. She loves to be praised and this is when her true bouncy, fun-loving character shines through. She gets along very well with other dogs and would benefit from being homed with an existing well-behaved, confident and sociable adult dog.

Bonnie suffers panic attacks when left alone, even when with another dog for company. Her foster carers are currently working through this and improvements are slowly starting to be seen. However her new owners, who will be at home for most of the time, must be able to put provisions in place, or be willing hire a dog sitter for times when she will be left alone for more than an hour. She now knows basic commands, walks well on her lead and has a good recall off lead. She is currently exercised on a 100ft long-line in-case she gets a scare. She also loves her toys, squeaky teddies being a firm favourite.

Bonnie’s new owners will be experienced with nervous dogs and will have plenty of time on their hands to continue her training, and most importantly her socialisation. She will require a quiet, all adult home, without too many people coming and going. With a patient, understanding and knowledgeable owner, Bonnie will blossom and make a great addition to the family.

Bonnie is looking for a perfect new home, a home where she will be loved and cherished for the rest of her life.
