We've just got our 2nd Boxer... I figured that no other dog would know how to play with a Boxer better than another Boxer!

Murphy is only 9 weeks old, but Max (our 18 mth old boy) is mostly very gentle with him, and I can't wait until Murphy is big enough to charge around on the beach with Max!

To be honest when i had boxers the only other breed i considered for #2 was another boxer.
Although when i had mine they got on ok with my sisters poodles.
I guess it is up to you, what size you want.
My 2 always got on with all size dogs they came across.
Iso theres nothing like 2....... If i got a boxer it would soon become 2.

My elder Boxer gets on well with the majority of dogs, but I think you'd probably need a larger high-energy breed to keep up with all the bouncing and running and being crazy that a Boxer does!
