bloody electric company! willing to leave us with no electric!

well, yesterday indie chewed our electric key, so we rang the electric company and they said they'd send us another and it would be with us in 5 working days orsomething. well, our electric was down to just over a quid, so they said when it gets to 50p, we should ring them back and they will send someone out to top it up for us with emergency electric. all is fine, we ring them this morning to say our electric is down to 50p, but they say that because we are new customers they cant send anyone out today but will send someone tuesday!
I told them that the electric would run out tonight and tuesday wasnt acceptable and all he could say was that if he could help me he would but they wont send anyone out! and cos we are new customers and only registered the day before they couldnt send anyone and that was that! i asked to speak to someone else and he gave me another number that just told me to ring the other people!
grr.
so i went out and knocked on neighbours doors hoping that someone elses key might work on my meter, but was anyone in!? nope.
so im fumbling round the drawers looking for the old key hoping that maybe that would work, and found the chewed one, which i hadnt seen the state of yet cos OH only told me. so i pulled the bits of plastic off and tried it in the key bit, and thankfully it worked to put on £5 emergency credit!

god knows what we would have done if it didnt! cant believe the electric company, really annoyed cos we would have been without electric for 3 days!

alls well now and we arent sitting in the dark, lol
