Petition. (horse owners tax )

The goverment have come to a decisions to charge horse owners tax there is more info on the link below and also a petition to sign if you do not agree with this.

Crickey, I don't own a horse, but not at all sure I support that proposal...what on earth are their reasons (apart from possibly the incorrect assumption that most horse owners are rich?)

I don't own a horse at the moment but i ride every week and hope to get back into it i know the cost's of owning a horse are extreme as it is, as when we had one we only ever had money for that and not much else. It won't just effect horse owners it may well have a great affect on anyone who works in the equine industry to!

this page explains the diseases they are on about, foot and mouth is a high contender,

the problem is in Europes horses are considered agricultural animals (although not in UK)

its just another sham really

Thanks Shona. I thought the 'E' word might have something to do with it. Seems like needless red tape to me really - I could see it applying to breeders or big stables or something, but for single horse owners, it seems unnecessary to me.
