Conjunctivitis?

What do you do if a dog has conjunctivitis? Would they have to have antibiotics?

Possibly. Conjunctivitis may be indicative of other problems.

Thanks SB and BML... SB great link as always, thanks

Mys I'm not sure Remember a while ago I posted about him having some yellow gunk in his eye, I cleaned it with sal****er but this morning it came back, his eye was almost stuck together with gunk, and we had to remove it before he could open it properly.

I'll keep cleaning it over the weekend, and if he's not better I'll take him to the vets on Monday... or should I take him today?

I am just boiling up some salty water to clean his eye with now...

Be warned Archie may come out looking like an alien with wierd green eyes and green coming out of his nose, as the vet may put some dye in his eye to check he hasn't injured it in anyway. Hope he gets better quickly

an excellent herbal remedy for conjuctivitus is eyebright ..(Euphrasia officinalis )
it helps fight infection and drys up access fluid its specificaly for eyes .. an cotton ball dipped in an infusion used to wipe the eyes will help it can also be used as an everey day solution to prevent further attacks
