I think it is easier with more than one because you put that extra effort in to training them well. At least in theory most good dog owners do.

I have five dogs here, but did have six until last November, after the first three or four, you dont notice the extra ones

I will always have at least two together. They keep each other company and I found the older ones teach the younger ones far more than I could. If you lay the right foundations and training down, it is a pleasure to have at least two together, that's providing you get them to get on. Just remember, we dont like every one we meet, so dont expect your dog to automatically get on and like the dog you bring in.

Good Luck, if done correctly it is a real pleasure, with not much more extra work.
